Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is an agricultural extension centre created by Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and its affiliated institutions at the district level to provide various types of farm support to the agricultural sector. KVK play a vital role in conducting on-farm Testing to demonstrate location-specific agricultural technologies. Krishi Vigyan Kendra is an integral part of the National Agricultural Research System (NARS), aims at assessment of location-specific technology modules in agriculture and allied enterprises, through technology assessment, refinement and demonstrations. KVKs are functioning as Knowledge and Resource Centres of agriculture technology supporting initiatives of public, private & voluntary sectors for improving the agricultural economy of the districts and are linking the NARS with extension system and farmers.

It’s been a century and beyond that the Sargachhi RKMA is serving the people of Murshidabad with the religious vibes of Sri Ramkrishna in heart and philosophy of Selfless Karma of Swami Vivekananda in hand. Recently this venture has become more prominent with the inclusion of ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra within its periphery named as DhanyaGanga KVK to disseminate recent agricultural technologies and to remain engaged in different rural developmental activities.
A wonderful partnership of these two institutions has created an environment of ideal cooperation and synergism to cater the needs of humanity and above all this duo has determined to extend their hands unconditionally towards the rural community.
About Vision of DGKVK
Dhaanyaganga Krishi Vigyan Kendra, under Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational & Research Institute (RKMVERI), Belurmath, Howrah located at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sargachi ,is an institute of field level research cum extension and a centre to cater different field level services for farmers like training, awareness camp, health camp, demonstration etc. This institute conducts training on different agro activities on agronomy, horticulture, plant protection, livestock, fishery science, agricultural extension etc. under direct supervision of Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Sargachi Different research works on various fields of agriculture are also conducted with the motto from lab to field and thereby development of farmers by developing agriculture and allied technologies having staff of both scientific and administrative category.
To develop Murshidabad (13 blocks which are under our KVK jurisdiction) as a model district for holistic and sustainable human resource development where self-reliance and socio-economic empowerment will be the driving force in the peoples life sprecially the farmers communiutuy and they will adopt scientific attitude to get rid of all the social customs and barriers those are engulfing the people of that area and holding them back to be self reliant.
Developing a Sustainable Integrated Farming System Eco-solvent farming practice and Institutional Frame Work that will create ample scope to people of surrounding areas to improve livelihood through direct engagement at site or through different income generating activities. To disseminate the technologies after being tested and verified in ground level. These coupled with education camp, healthcare, medical camp and motivational camp will help to curb all kinds of social stigma.
